Yes, working for Hams was quite different than working for YS General. Although at Tower the difference at the dorm seemed to be somewhat similar feeling in both. There are the same activities for us 'old' people.
The ratio of young to 'old retired **s' seems to be growing toward the younger. As cook last year one day I had 15 or so people then the next morning w/o warning to me I had 25+ (all from Hong Kong).
Yes, they all had to stay what their contract said. Most of them came the 1st of June and were leaving the last of Aug. We stayed the 1st 8 wks of the season.
Of the 4 seasons working (not consecutively). I've been a cook 3. This past season I had not expected to be cook. There seemed to be more pressure - not from management but from the employees. The manager was great to me no complaints. The head of dining cooks from West was OK also. But growing older has made me less whatever . . . fill the dots in and less able to bend both physically and mentally.
At least we didn't have to have my BP cked every 'weekend' off and could enjoy our trips in and around the park. That's the reason we like to work in the park . . . those two days off.
