My husband loves nothing better than to show little kids their first bear through our spotting scope. We spend a lot of our time in the Park at the side of the road with the scope on some animal or another. Much of that scope time is shared with other visitors. We're not hard to find, you'll see us just by driving around places like the Lamar and Hayden Valleys. We have met people from around the world doing this and it is a delight. There are lots of folks out there who do the same, and there are Rangers who do it as well. Remember, if for some reason the wildlife is an absolute no-show in the Park and you have little ones who would be devistated, there is the Grizzly-Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone MT where there are captive animals that can be viewed at relatively close distance. You're going to have a great time!
