I have no experience with the tour companies, other than Xanterra, the main lodging/dining concessionaire in the park. The only reason I've been on their tours is that I've taken the winter snow coach from Mammoth to Old Faithful and the narration is running from start to finish. Their drivers/guides are quite good, so I imagine their Yellow Bus tours are probably up to par as well. You might also investigate the Yellowstone Inst itute of the Yellowstone As sociation, to see if they're offering anything that suits your needs. They're first rate.

The only cookout I've done is also organized by Xanterra. It leaves from Roosevelt Lodge, and you can go horseback or by horse-drawn wagon. They're well organized, the food is ample and very well prepared. Even though I've been to the park a lot, I did the Roosevelt cookout only once. It was fun and relaxing, and the kids especially seemed to have a wonderful time. The photo is of the "coffee cowboy", June of 2006.
There are laundromats in the park; the only one I've used is the one at Lake Lodge cabins. I would suggest calling Xanterra to find out where the other ones are, and if you're going relatively early or late in the season, make sure the one you want is open (some facilities open late and close early, including Roosevelt Lodge, so find out about the cookout schedule, and reserve your place, while you're at it). My only comment on it is that like most laundromats, as compared to your home machines, it seems to take forever to dry your jeans! I've also done laundry in the town of Gardiner, just outside of north entrance. I'm sure you can do it also in West Yellowstone, though I have no direct experience there.
